Shannon Bond Cake Design is a private, home-based cake studio located in beautiful Olathe, Kansas. We are honored to serve the Kansas City metro and Lawrence areas. 


 As each design is custom, there are no set prices, there is a minimum order of $300.00. Fondant covered cakes begin at $6.00 per serving. Buttercream covered cakes start at $5.00 per serving. Beginning prices are based on basic cake flavors and minimal decoration. Most of the custom designed cakes in my galleries are between $8-12/serving. 

The final price of your custom cake will depend on flavors, complexity of design and handmade elements. 

3D, sculpted and standing structure custom cakes start at $500 based on size, details, complexity of structure and design.


I only use the highest quality ingredients - gourmet chocolate, buttermilk, heavy cream, sweet cream butter, fresh fruits and real Madagascar vanilla beans. All of my recipes are made fresh for my customers with the best REAL ingredients and flavors I can get my hands on! I like to buy local, organic, fresh ingredients that remember where they came from. I make my own vanilla bean paste, salted caramel and fruit compotes to flavor my cakes and buttercreams. I use only all-butter recipes for my buttercreams, no shortenings will ever be added. These quality products do cost more, but also give you, my customers, the highest quality, best tasting product possible. 


Cake Shooters

Beautiful layers of cake and buttercream served in elegant single serving glasses with mini forks. Sold by the dozen starting at $72.00/dozen per flavor and increase based on gourmet flavor combinations. 






















Payment in full is due 30 days before the event date. A 50% non-refundable retainer is due at time of booking along with a signed contract to officially book your date. Tastings for 2 people are available for events ordering a minimum of 100 servings of cake with a one hour consultation and available by pre-scheduled appointment for a $30 prepaid consultation fee. If you would like to bring extra people to the tasting, I have maximum seating for 4 people and an additional $25 tasting fee for 2 extra people may apply. Please inquire for more information.  


A signed contract and non-refundable 50% retainer are required to officially book your date. All dates are considered open until the signed contract and full payment are received. It is important to note I hand make every sugar flower, details and design element for every cake. Because of this, I only take a limited number of cakes per week to fully concentrate on each order and dates do fill up quickly. Bookings are on a first come, first paid basis. Until the non-refundable, 50% retainer is received, dates remain open to other orders who may pay their retainer first.


I typically book up 3-6 months in advance in off-peak wedding season and 12-18 months in advance for peak wedding season dates and teaching engagements. Contact me as soon as you know your event date to check availability.


 Industry standard cake servings that are used as guidelines for caterers and reception venues for cutting and serving cakes are 1″ wide x 2″ deep and 4" tall. My cakes are taller than industry sized standards, usually between 5- 5.5" in height per tier. It is better to overestimate and have leftover cake than to underestimate or have a generous cake cutter and run out of cake. Popular cake sizes serve the following based on the standard guidelines listed above:



6″ round=13 servings                                          8″ round=22 servings

10″round=38 servings                                       12″round=54 servings





Included in your price quote for all cakes 3 tiers and larger. Also available upon request for predetermined fee for all other orders. Please inquire with your event location for a delivery quote.


 Pick-up times for single or 2 tiered cakes are scheduled at the time an order is placed. 


Customer Satisfaction 

 I take great pride in my work and am in business solely to provide you excellence in taste and in art. 

Once a cake has been picked up by you or a designated party it is considered “accepted” and a waiver must be signed. All product is the responsibility of the customer once it leaves my premises.
